The cookies set out in this Policy are used in accordance with the legislation to which we are subject, primarily Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (“KVKK”), and in a manner consistent with their purpose.

From time to time, depending on changing needs, we may disable, delete or modify the cookies we use on our website, or add new cookies to the website.

Therefore, SIGMA reserves the right to change the information set out in this Policy.

If you do not wish the cookies set out in the Policy to be used, you may adjust the settings of your internet browser as you wish in the ways described in the Policy.

By accessing our website and its pages, you are deemed to have approved and accepted the use of cookies in accordance with this Policy.

What Is a Cookie?

Cookies are small text files that are sent to your internet browser by web servers and saved on the device you use to access the Website, and in which information about your visit to the Website is stored.

What Is the Purpose of Using Cookies?

In line with the explanations above, cookies are used to offer our Visitors more suitable services, products or offers, and are also used;

to provide the technical data needed for the use of our website, to collect information about your Website usage habits and how you use the Website, and because personal data such as the IP address are needed in order for us to fulfill our obligations arising from laws and regulations and/or relating to the performance of contracts. As can be seen, cookies, as a rule, do not collect your personal data. However, some of them may provide information that can identify you when matched with other information you may provide during your visit to the website.

What Happens If Cookies Are Not Accepted?

If you decide not to accept the cookies on our website, or if you delete some cookies, this may adversely affect the use of our Website and may cause the services we offer to operate unstably or not at all, prevent you from using some of the services we offer on the website, limit what you can do on our website, and have a negative impact on design and user experience.

The purpose of this Policy is to inform website visitors, pursuant to Article 10 of the KVKK, about their personal data obtained through cookies.

In the tables below, you can see the cookies used on our websites and their purposes of use.

Types of Cookies and Purposes of Use

  • Session Cookies: These are temporary cookies that are used during visitors' visits to the website and deleted after the browser is closed. The main purpose of using this type of cookie is to ensure that the website functions properly during your visit.
  • Persistent Cookies: These are types of cookies used to increase the functionality of the website and to provide a faster and better service.

This type of cookie is used to remember visitors' preferences and is stored on visitors' devices by means of browsers.

Some types of persistent cookies may be used to offer personalized recommendations to visitors, taking into account matters such as the purpose for which the website is used. By means of persistent cookies, when the website is visited again with the same device, it is checked whether there is a cookie created by the website on the visitor's device and, if so, it is understood that the website has been visited before, and the content to be delivered to visitors is determined accordingly.

In this context, Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, Yandex Metrika, LinkedIn and the Add This tools, which are added only on article pages for sharing, are used for measurement and analysis. We recommend that you also review the privacy and cookie policies of these tools. Information such as the language of your internet browser, your time zone, the time spent on our pages and search engine optimization information is obtained by these tools, and information about visits to our website is shared with us anonymously and cumulatively (such as how many visitors come from which country) through the tools we use. The tools we use do not share with us the personal data they process. The cookies created by these measurement tools have no effect on the functioning of the site

Cookies by purpose of use

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies: Strictly necessary cookies are cookies that are required for you to browse our website and use its features, such as access to secure areas of the site. These cookies are used for purposes such as security and verification; they are not used for any marketing purpose and do not identify you. An example of this is remembering previous actions when returning to a page within the same session.
  • Functionality cookies: Functionality cookies allow the choices you have made on our website in the past (your username, your region or the language you use) to be remembered for a more personalized online experience. The information collected by these cookies may include confidential data that can identify you, such as your username or profile picture. Not allowing the use of this type of cookie may result in a feature specific to you not being available and prevents your preferences from being remembered.
  • Performance cookies: These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting information such as how you use our website, which pages you visit and which links you click. These cookies do not identify you. All data is collected and aggregated anonymously.
  • Marketing cookies: These cookies are used to present content relevant to you and your interests. They may also be used to deliver targeted advertisements or to limit the number of times an advertisement is shown to you. Many types of these cookies may collect identifying information by tracking consumers.

Ownership of the Cookies Used

  • First-party cookies: These are placed on visitors' devices directly by the website. First-party cookies are set by the website you are browsing and can only be read by that site.
  • Third-party cookies: Third-party cookies are set by other organizations used for different services. For example, the external data analysis services we use and the suppliers providing these services set cookies on our behalf in order to report what is popular and what is not.
