OMM - Odunpazarı Modern Museum

Housing the private contemporary art collection of architect Erol Tabanca, Chairman of the Board of Polimeks Holding, the museum (OMM) is located in the Odunpazarı district of Eskişehir. A major asset to Eskişehir that drew wide attention across Türkiye, the project owes its reputation to its distinctive design.

Odunpazarı, included on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List, is a key district of the university city of Eskişehir. Wood, which holds an important place in the city's heritage and is one of Kengo Kuma's favorite materials, played a central role in the museum's design. Exhibiting works by contemporary artists from Türkiye and around the world, the museum aims to introduce Turkish art to the wider world.

OMM - Odunpazarı Modern Museum has an area of 4,500 sqm designed with box-like volumes placed on top of each other and rotated at different angles. SIGMA undertook the reinforced concrete and steel structure design of this challenging building. We also created a 3D model of the museum in the digital environment utilizing Building Information Modeling technology and coordinated all building services.
