Prometeon R & D Center
Distinguished by its custom-designed facade, the Prometeon R&D building was completed in 2020. In the design, in which SIGMA took part with a multidisciplinary team, architectural matters were evaluated together with Italian architect Donald Hart.
Prometeon, which established Türkiye's first tire factory in Kocaeli, developed a full-scale R&D Center within the same factory with a new investment of approximately USD 15 million. SIGMA carried out the architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and infrastructure designs of this important project. To be built in Kartepe, Kocaeli, on a 10,500 m² plot with an enclosed construction area of 4,800 m², the building consists of 2 blocks: the main section housing the test laboratories, and the section containing offices and R&D areas. The building, distinguished by its custom-designed facade, was developed in collaboration with Renzo Piano.

R&D Center has two blocks covering a construction area of about 4.800 sqm situated on a land of 10.500 sqm. In the center, test laboratories and the R&D areas take up most of the space. There are also offices. Renowned Architect Renzo Piano created the outstanding facade of the center.
